Tobias Gilk

M.Arch, MRSO (MRSC™), MRSE (MRSC™)

Tobias Gilk, M.Arch, MRSO (MRSC™), MRSE (MRSC™) has been an MRI safety advocate and educator for over two decades. He is an architect, by training, and became involved in MRI safety, initially, through the bricks-and-mortar design and construction. He twice served on the American College of Radiology’s MRI Safety Committee and is a named co-author on three of the ACR’s MRI safety publications. He is one of the founding Board members of the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS), previously served as Chair, and holds two of the ABMRS’s MRI safety certifications. Tobias’ deep commitment to sharing MRI safety information has lead him to founding the Facebook MRI Safety Group (more than 30,000 worldwide members), his own consultancy, the Advanced MRI Safety Seminars, and now, with his co-authors, this book.

Douglas Boyd

RT (R)(MR), ARMRIT

Douglas Boyd, RT (R)(MR), ARMRIT, is the MRI program director at Smith Chason College’s Phoenix campus. Doug’s career in the MRI profession spans over 30 years, and during that time, he has served in the imaging departments of several large institutions. For more than a decade, he served as the MRI and PET/MRI supervisor at the Phoenix VA Hospital, which is home to the largest MRI department in the Veterans Administration system. Doug’s deep knowledge of the subject allows him to teach both professional peers and students alike. He is a frequent national lecturer on all aspects of MRI, including safety, and has been an MRI instructor at various schools for over 15 years.

Peter Jablonka

RT, R, CT, MR, MRSO, VRT

Pete Jablonka, RT, R, CT, MR, MRSO, VRT, has established a prominent career in the field of medical imaging, marked by significant contributions and leadership roles. He has served as Lead Technologist for several imaging centers, where he has demonstrated exceptional expertise and management skills.

At General Electric (GE), Pete worked as an MRI Application Specialist, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing MRI technology and its applications. His tenure at RadNet in New York City and the five boroughs further highlights his capabilities, where he managed MRI operations and collaborated closely with Dr. Larry Tanenbaum. Together, they focused on optimizing and standardizing MRI protocols, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

In addition to his impressive career in traditional imaging centers, Pete is also an innovator in remote medical services. He co-founded Alpha-RT, the first third-party remote MRI scanning service in the United States. This groundbreaking service allows for remote scanning capabilities, expanding access to MRI diagnostics and setting a new standard in the industry.

Further solidifying his expertise, Pete has co-authored a book with Doug Boyd about remote MRI scanning, sharing his knowledge and experience in this innovative field. Pete’s extensive experience and pioneering efforts continue to shape the future of medical imaging.
